During the height of Despacito's popularity, however 19 predominantly Spanish songs made it to the top 100, and in 2020 there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artists collaborated with reggaeton superstars such as Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019 As early as 2020, a few reggaeton artists felt dissatisfied with the direction the genre was heading toward mainstream. Rauw Alajandro is a part of a new generation looking to alter the course. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms and other genres into his songs.
